CANADIAN NAVY CENTENNIAL YOUTH POSTER CONTEST
 
 ENTRY RULES:
NOTICE TO GROUP LEADERS: We encourage as many young people as possible to take part in the Canadian Navy Centennial Youth Poster Contest. Please read through the complete list of entry rules and eligibility criteria and submit the posters of all participants without conducting a pre-selection process. Contact the Canadian Naval Centennial Office at www.navy100marine@forces.gc.ca if you have any questions.
Eligibility:
 Participants must be between the ages of 5 and 18 and reside in Canada or be Canadian citizens. Only one entry per participant is permitted. Multiple entries per group or region may be mailed together to save on postage.
Required information:
Participants are encouraged to use the entry form and attach it to the back of their poster. They can also download and print the entry form. Participants may also print the following information in pencil on the back of their artwork: name, age, address, telephone number, email, name of group, group address, name of group leader, and preferred language of correspondence. P articipants should also provide a short explanation as to how their artwork expresses the history of the Canadian Navy. S ince participants will receive a T-shirt, shirt size should be indicated ranging in adult sizes from XS - XL. A ll information collected will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act.
Evaluation criteria:
Artwork will be evaluated using the following criteria: compliance with the entry rules, judged on originality, expression of designated subject, drawing and illustration, and use of colors.

Categories: there will be 4 age categories as follows: A ge 5-8; Age 9-11; Age 12-14; and Age 15-18.

Please note that decisions made by the judging panel of the Canadian Naval Centennial project office are final.
National Prizes:
  The winners must accept their prizes as offered.
No substitution, transfer, or exchange will be permitted.

CATEGORY 2: JUNIOR age 9 - 11
1st Prize $125.00 in Best Buy gift cards.

CATEGORY 3: INTERMEDIATE age 12 - 14
1st Prize $200.00 in Best Buy gift cards.

CATEGORY 4: SENIOR age 15-18
1st Prize $500.00 in Best Buy gift cards.

OVERALL WINNER:
Prize $200.00 in Best Buy gift cards.

**The overall winning poster will also be reproduced in “high-glossy poster” for use as give-aways by the Canadian Naval Centennial at various centennial activities across the country.
Deadline:
  Entries must be marked “Youth Poster Contest” and be postmarked
before midnight on 5 April 2010.
